Boundless

Consider those impetuous
dream horses, calico chaotic,
visions colliding at some
times as they will

with the forests of our reasons,
or ordered hedgerows of conviction

falling as if never truly
expressed just rolling green

pastures of infinite possibility, spare
features of mayhem like the fluke waiting

patiently inside the mind
of one crazed ant perched high
atop tall green blade tip lingering
to hitch a ride on one unwilling

hapless sheep who will
see before falling under soundless
embrace of that long last dream
how boundless life was.

Hey there, I've been wondering if you all are just busy with the holidays or if this one is just too weird or something to comment on...Let me know, will ya? Thanks! :D

Nice. Quite a different perspective and theme. I have to get back to you on this one so as to give you a proper comment.

Thanks, Tiger. :D I think my friend who minces no words is probably right when she says that it's too confusing jumping as I do from the horses to flukes, ants, and sheep. I will give it a long think... :D

A lot happening here is right.

We have horses, forests, hedgerows, green pastures, fluke, ants and sheep.

There is some nice fresh imagery here the image of dream horses is appealing. The style of the poem seems to me to be metaphysical. I am thinking the theme of the poem is about the mind and how it can trick, confuse and make one impetuous. Then there is something about dreams and visions.

What I struggle to visualise is the image of fluke inside the mind of the ant. That stanza is quite confusing to me. And then the last stanza the fluke offers the sheep some sort of epiphany before it dies.

Interesting. Maybe I am missing something or my brain has been devoured by a fluke.

Thanks for the help with this one also, man. I know this one is missing a large piece in the middle and I sort of know what it should be...just haven't written the devil yet. LOL

Flukes use ants like ATVs to get them to the top of those blades of grass. Wild, I know, that's probably why this obscure bit of info has stuck with me. It's creepy as hell really. Hehee

I may wind up going a totally different way with this one since I don't know if I have it in me to create that middle hunk. I was thinking of an almost cinematic device going from the very large to the very small (the ant and the fluke) then panning back out again. Dunno. We'll see. Thanks as always!
