Shadow of a Soul

Wings of black flame
charred and ashen feathers
soar aloft

Darkness, Shadowy
Flaming talons
engulf—consume—devour

Birth sucks
breath
from death.

Shadows enwomb
conflict—change—flux
The eternal I

Transformation
joy—sorrow
pleasure—pain
birth—death.

Crawling, clawing, climbing
Death arisen
Beauty incarnate

Charred and scarred
wings
papery ash
Black Feathers, Flames

The Raven—Phoenix ascends.

Interesting, though I seem to have a problem with your use of adjectives while they are related it seems a bit too fragmented.

I could be wrong and it's just an opinion, I love fragmented stuff just seems like a lot is going on here.

Other than that there was some good assonance/alliteration. Cheers for this.

Thanks... I'm more a fiction writer than a poet... this came to me and I took a swipe at it. It's gone through several incarnations before it finally landed here.
