Slipstream Memories

The events of my life slip past, flowing smoothly along. They are indifferent to my efforts and desires. I see them as if from afar and once they have passed I cannot quite retrieve them. The fingers of my mind grasp at memories of happy days or sad days the actual remembering flows through my fingers like water in a rapidly moving stream. All I am left with are sparkling remnants clinging to the edges of my mind. Tantalizing facets refracting bits and pieces of past events, never enough to quench my desires.

Well, if you ask me, the haiku version is much better than the other. Congrats! Well done!

Thank you! *Takes a bow*

The haiku was a challenge for me. I'm much more comfortable with stream of consciousness (at least that's what that is in my understanding). I like to be wordy and run things together!
