Daylight and darkness
a torrent of rain on
parched earth
you beckon me to
join you – to follow
with a wave of
your arm.
The laughter that
rolls from your lips
is the unspoken
promise of embrace
but we see that
it is what it is
and feel the force
that propels
opposite poles.
