Cuckoo

I miss the sound
of the cuckoo
above oak tree

branches I climb
higher, higher
surface blue sky.

This one is so small says so much then ends so abruptly that I found it a bit startling. If that's what you were after, my friend, then outstanding job! :D

:) I was trying my best to keep it short and I limited the amount of syllables in each line, which also helped to limited the amount of words.

I do admit that perhaps the ending is a little too jarring, perhaps if I tried to make it more subtle it would ease the reader into the ending.

I really enjoyed writing this poem and I think there's a series to be made from this alone. I know it might sound like a hard task but it sounds like a plan.

Thanks P.B. for the read. When will we be seeing more of your work? I'm afraid I'll swamp this site with my work. I've been holding off putting up my 30+ poems I've written recently.

I didn't mean to suggest that the startle at the end was a bad thing. In my book, I rather enjoy a slap in the face sometimes. But maybe I'm just odd like that. Hehee

I've got a few things cooking but that doesn't mean they'll be worth reading anytime soon. Doesn't mean they won't be ready soon either of course. I think the muse is on vacation but I never know. I'm really enjoying this series, my friend, so by all means go ahead and post them! :D

Forgot to ask, could anyone reading the blog now kindly click on the "Follow" button? I'd like to know who's here. Thanks!

I can't seem to join up. I think there might be a bug on my end. Damn google bugs. You know I'm here though, don't you? ;)

I think you just have to be signed in to Google in order to follow a blog. Not sure what benefit it is to us to have followers exactly...I figured if we get followers then we'll find out. Hehee Thanks.
