Snow Angels

White blankets,
covers hillsides,
brings out snow angels
from sunset fire.
Outside coldness covers legs
reddens dripping nose,
brings fog crisp breath.
Snow never comes,
angels lie outstretched
on concrete grey,
dreaming of chill
when winter manna
melts on tongue.
